Stir it up
March is a messy in-between time. Weather turns cold, warm, wet. Spring is on its way. Embrace change and navigate your way with Add New Symbols, and Piece it Together. Check out Starters for more ideas.
What symbols can you draw on from your daily world? They should be meaningful, recognizable and useful.
They need not be exact representations; Inaccuracy lends well to the creative process.
What "world" do you come from? Each has its own vocabulary! Electrical / Plumbing / Teaching / Management / Skateboarding / ...
What do you have in common with others?
Reflect on a problem, mis-communication.
Draw four separate images to convey different aspects of the problem: a bullet list, a hard-fast scribble, a curving path, and a line bouncing from point to point.
Cut each image onto its own piece of paper. Lay the four images onto a single piece of paper.
Which way is up?
What figure can you make from the combination?
Turn the bouncing line into a head, the bullet list into a chest, and the scribble into a stomach. Use the curving path to join the others.
Darken in areas to flesh out a figure.
And the result?
Now you have a figure that is both a product of, and reflecting on, the original question.
Consider the words and images below; Choose those that stir your imagination.
May we find our vision, learn our way, define our path, and meet our purpose.
