Wind Mills

We're back!, from 10 days in Germany and Poland. Wow. So much has changed in Germany since I lived there (1991-1996). Every village is larger, some double and triple in size.

I saw wind mills from the plane over Munich, and again on the ground. Clumped in 2's and 3's, scattered by the Autobahn next to medium sized villages. Scenic. Unlike the wind farms in Indiana, several miles square.

We're told that the German government provided an incentive for solar power as well. Every other barn is covered in solar panels, and crops are intermingled with rows of them.

The rolling hills are as beautiful as ever. The landscape stretches out larger than I remember. I thought memory turned things larger, not smaller?

So anyhow, I'm back and processing the experience. Heavy work in the garden for two days. We tried to make our own German dumplings last night and fell short. They stayed together, but tasted more like mashed potatoes. I'll be looking for a video online that explains how long to boil the potatoes and mix the dough. The recipe doesn't go into that type of detail, simply stating "boil", and "mix", but not explaining the consistency at each step.

Okay,... back to work time. It should be interesting, hopefully not painful, to meld back into the normal flow. I hope you are doing well.
