Objectives

  • Define your identity and path
  • Identify a variety of ways to navigate the future
  • Identify a variety of ways to reflect on the past

Lesson Plan: Add Position and Direction

Identify who you are, and where you are going.

Value

  • Similarities. Identify similarities. How are you, your possessions, or your environment similar to others in appearance, function, or purpose? Draw similar clouds. List similarities.
  • Differences. Identify differences. How do are you, your possessions, or your environment different to others in appearance, function, or purpose? Draw differing flowers. List differences.

Purpose

  • Diverge. Consider themes that diverge. Students graduate and move on in different directions. Draw arrows spiraling away from a central point.
  • Diversity. Consider collections of diversity. Draw a collage of objects and words that have a logical relation. Add objects and words that have no apparent relation. Add objects and words that have a hidden meaning for you.

Objective

  • Upward. Consider upward growth. Faster, better, more. Draw arrows moving from bottom left to top right.
  • Downward. Consider downward growth. Slower, worse, less. Draw arrows moving from top left to bottom right.
  • Constants. Consider constant movement. The cycle of life, commitments made and kept, Fridays and Mondays. Write a list of constants in your life.
